Shree Kuttyat Paradevatha Temple is a well known temple and very popular among temple devotees which is estimated to be more than 6 centuries old.The presiding deity of this temple is Vettakkorumakan Paradevatha.In addition to the main deity,there are four important shrines for the sub deities which includes Pottan Deivam(Shaivam),Guru,Bhadrakali,and Ganapathi(Lord Ganesha). The sanctum is build of teakwood and roofed with copper sheeting.The temple premise is in a square shaped courtyard.The courtyard reflects the ancient martial arts (Kalari).Recently the courtyad got renovated with rock stone(Krishnashila). The temple premises is blessed with an enormous and vast spread Banyan tree(Arayal) which is surrounded by a good foundation (Aalthara) and is considered to be sacred by the devotees due to its divine power and numerous benefits like releasing large amount of oxygen.There are few more decades' old historical sacred trees in this premises which include Kanjiram (Nuxvomica) and Chemapakam (Magnolia Chempaca) which is aspecialty of this temple.In addition,there is asacred pond (Theerthakulam) which is built according to Vastu Shastra which has never been dried even in the servere summer season since its inception.
The annual festival of the temple is celebrated in the month of kumbam (February – March) for a period of 7 days. The festival commences with the Maha Ganapathi Homam (Ritual to Lord Ganesha) on Kumbam 23rd. On Kumbam 24th the religious flag is hosted (Kodiyettam). The festival will be concluded with a divine ritual dance-drama (Thirayattam) enacted during Kumbam 28th, 29th and 30th. During these days Sapthaham Yagnam, Devotional Speeches, Cultural Programs will be conducted and also 24 hrs continuous Aganda Naamajapa Yagnam is also performed. In addition to the above, Vishu Vilakku, Elaneer Attam, Prathishtadinam (Raising day) in the month of Mithunam (June – July) on Punartham Nakshathram, Navarathri Celebration, Thrikarthika, Thiruvathira Festival, Deepavbali Celebration, Mandalakosham, and Vinayaka Chathurthi are also celebrated.
